Hector Bustamante started his career at one of the Big 4 accounting firms – KPMG, as a Financial Auditor at the Venezuela Chapter. The primary areas of focus included auditing, review, and compilation of company financial statements with revenues size from $20 to $200 million in different industries. Hector also earned the CPA* designation in 2000.
In 2004, Hector decided to build his own general contracting company in Venezuela, providing residential, commercial, and public construction sales, services, and project management. He oversaw field operations, including project strategies, personnel management, general procurement of goods, services, and establishment of a supply chain network with attention to both safety and quality.
With a strong financial background and experience, Hector committed to providing clients with the resources to make informed financial decisions. Hector became a financial advisor in 2016 at New York Life. He helps Latino families and business owners to protect the ones they love through a variety of financial products and solutions to meet their needs. He strives to build long-term relationships with clients, guide them to reach their goals, and strengthen the community he served. Hector was named as the Council member for two consecutive years at New York Life.
Hector decided to join Fortis Lux Financial in 2019. Hector provides holistic planning strategies through a network of experienced professionals with detailed knowledge in advisory services, retirement planning, estate strategies, employee benefit and retention services, business continuation strategies, and trust services.
He is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Metro New York (FPA) and part of the Pro Bono Committee.
In his free time, Hector enjoys exercising, traveling, volunteering, and spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid triathlete and has completed several half and full Ironman races. One of Hector’s greatest passions is giving back. He has served in various capacities for numerous charitable organizations throughout the tri-state area.
