Steve Bellon earned his CPA*designation in 1984 and started his career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell &Co. (now KPMG), one of the world’s largest and most prestigious CPA firms.Steve worked in the Tax department where his responsibilities included tax planningand tax preparation for large, publicly traded corporations.

In 1987, Steve left Peat, Marwick,Mitchell and went to work for a small, local CPA firm in Brewster, New York. Atthis local firm Steve specialized in Tax Planning for family-owned businesses. In1991, Steve took his tax and accounting knowledge and his ‘hands-on’ experiencein working with business owners and entered the Financial Services industry.

Today, Steve is a FinancialAdvisor with Fortis Lux Financial, a uniquely positioned wealth managementfirm, where he provides guidance to business owners in the following areas:Retirement Planning, Business Evaluation Services, Succession and ExitPlanning, and Business Financial Planning.

In 2014 Steve earned the CertifiedFamily Business Specialist (CFBS) designation from the American College in BrynMawr, Pennsylvania. The CFBS curriculum is an accredited, graduate-levelprogram designed to broaden an advisor’s knowledge and insight into the innerworkings and challenging dynamics of family-owned businesses and ‘closely-held’corporations. In addition to the CFBS designation, Steve is also a CERTIFIEDFINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional.

Steve, an avid hockey fan, is afounding board member of the North Rockland Youth Hockey Association, an organizationthat provides all children in his community the opportunity to participate inyouth hockey. In addition, Steve has also run the New York City Marathon twiceto raise funds to benefit our youth. As a member of “Team for Kids’ Steveraised funds to provide free health and fitness programs for underprivilegedchildren. In addition, as a member of ‘Fred’s Team’, Steve raised funds thatwere donated to Memorial Sloan-Kettering for pediatric cancer research.

In his leisure time, Steve enjoysexercising and spending time with his wife, Jeannie, and their two children.
